 The success story of PT Siantar Top consists of all the obstacle and inspiring story of someone who is persistent in reaching his dreams. Born in 1953 in Pematang Siantar,North Sumatra; Mr. Shindo Sumidomo grew up in a family with a food business background. Since he was a child he has been very curious in experimenting in creating tasty food. He has done various research and experiments until the idea of starting his own business started.
  In 1972, aged 19 Mr. Shindo decided to migrate and stay in Surabaya. Adopting the Chinese saying of “People prefers food, food prefers taste”, he established a household company that specialized in snack. With confident, persistence, innovation and passion, his business grew and in 1987 the company transformed into PT Siantar Top Industri. 2 years later in 1989 he build a new 25.000 sqm factory in Tambak Sawah, Sidoarjo. In 1996 PT Siantar Top was listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange, and changed its name to PT. Siantar Top Tbk.
  The company continued expanding, which new factories built in Medan in 1998, 2002 in Bekasi, and the most recent in Makassar in 2011.
PT Siantar Top Tbk is has also been ISO certified for ISO 9001:2000, ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 22000:2005 from URS.
  PT Siantar Top Tbk has been awarded the Global Brand Developer in 2007, The Best Quality Product of The Year (2013), The Best Manufacturing Company of the Year (2014), and Top Brand for KIDS (2015).
The company is currently expanding an strengthening its position as the top snack manufacturing company but expanding in certain areas in Asia, one of them is China.

 In the midst of increasingly fierce competition in the herbal medicine industry sector, PT Industri Jamu and Pharmacy Sido Muncul Tbk has succeeded in having the widest market share and good reputation as the largest herbal medicine industry in Indonesia. The success that has been achieved at this time is certainly inseparable from the role and the founder of this industry.
 The company, which has now successfully gone public into the Indonesia Stock Exchange, has been traveling through a long journey. Starting from the desire of a married couple Siem Thiam Hie who was born on January 28, 1897 and died April 12, 1976 with his wife Mrs. Rakhmat Sulistio who was born on August 13, 1897 under the name Go Djing Nio and died February 14, 1983, started his first business by opening a business Melkrey, a large milking business in Ambarawa.
 In 1928, a Malese war broke out in the world. As a result of this war, Melkrey's business they started was forced out of business and required them to move to Solo, in 1930. Without giving up, the couple then started a bakery business under the name Roti Muncul. Five years later, armed with the expertise of Mrs. Rakhmat Sulistio (Go Djing Nio) in processing herbs and spices, the couple decided to open a herbal medicine business in Yogyakarta.
 In 1941, they formulated the Wind Refreshing Herb, which at the time used the name Seven Wind Herbs. During the second Dutch colonial war in 1949, they fled to Semarang and established a herbal medicine business under the name Sido Muncul, which means "dream come true". On Jalan Mlaten Trenggulun No. 104 that, the home-based herbal medicine business began with the assistance of three employees.
 The large number of requests for more practical herbal medicine packaging has led him to produce Tolak Angin in powder form. This product has a place in the hearts of surrounding communities and demand continues to increase.
 In 1970, a limited partnership was formed under the name CV Sido Muncul Herbal & Pharmaceutical Industry. Then in 1975, the business form of the herbal medicine industry was changed to a Limited Liability Company under the name of PT Industri Jamu and Pharmaceutical Sido Muncul, where all the businesses and assets of CV Sido Mamu Herbal and Pharmaceutical Industry were combined, and continued by this limited liability company.
 During its development, the factory located on Jl.Mlaten Trenggulun was no longer able to meet the increasingly large production capacity. Because of the higher market demand, making the second generation of the founder of PT Sido Appear Desy Sulistio, decided to move the factory to the Small Industrial Environment on Jalan Kaligawe Semarang in 1984.
 Then began the construction of a factory equipped with modern facilities, so that it could develop rapidly as it is today, and become a pioneer of herbal medicine companies with pharmaceutical standards.
 In anticipation of future progress, Sido Muncul felt the need to build a bigger and modern factory, so in 1997 the groundbreaking of the construction of a new factory in Klepu, Ungaran, by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X and witnessed by the Director General of Drug and Food Control at that time .
 The new factory located in Klepu, Bergas sub-district, Ungaran with an area of ​​around 30 hectares was inaugurated by the Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Indonesia, on November 11, 2000. During the inauguration of the factory, Sido Muncul received two certificates at once, namely Good Manufacturing Practices for Traditional Medicines. (CPOTB) and Good Manufacturing Practices (CPOB) are equivalent to pharmaceuticals. This certificate makes Sido Appear as the only pharmaceutical standard herbal medicine factory. The factory location itself consists of factory buildings covering an area of ​​around 8 hectares and the rest is a supporting area for the factory environment
 As a company that has been established since 1951, Sido Muncul, which is now a modern herbal company, strives to provide good and healthy products for all consumers, and thus provide positive value to the community.
 Over time, Sido Muncul began developing its business, which initially only concentrated in the field of herbal medicine, so in 2004 Sido Muncul created a new division called "Food Division".
 The first product made was an energy drink "Kuku Bima Energi" with original taste. Then the next product is sweets namely Rejecting Candy, Fragrant Ginger Candy and Turmeric Acid Candy. 1995 - 2001

 Established as a foreign investment company named PT Nippon Indosari Corporation and operated the first factory in Cikarang, West Java. Commercial production of “Sari Roti” brand breads commenced in 1996 and two machinery lines were added in 2001.

2003-2008
 Changed the Company's name to PT Nippon Indosari Corpindo from PT Nippon Indosari Corporation in 2003. The second factory started in Pasuruan, East Java in 2005 and third factory was opened in Cikarang,West Java, in 2008.

2010-2014

 Initial Public Offering was on 28th June, 2010 on the Indonesia Stock Exchange with the ticker code “ROTI”. Factories in Semarang (Central Java) and Medan (North Sumatera) were opened in 2011. The Company started the sixth factory in Cibitung (West Java) in 2012, as well as adding one new production line to each of the existing factories located in Pasuruan, Semarang, and Medan. Another two new factories in Makassar (South Sulawesi) and Palembang (South Sumatera) started their operations in 2013, followed by double capacity factories in Purwakarta (West Java) and Cikande (Banten) in 2014.
