MPM Again Holds Skills Training Class to Improve Quality and Competitiveness of Human Resources

Jakarta, April 20, 2021 - Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency in August 2020, the number of unemployed people in Indonesia has increased by 2.67 million people and overall there are 9.77 million Indonesians registered as unemployed. This happened due to the difficult conditions of the Indonesian economy and even globally due to the Covid-19 pandemic, where many companies could not survive, so they were forced to lay off their employees and to close their businesses due to continuous losses. Most of these laid off victims eventually have to do various ways in order to keep earning income to support themselves and their families by changing professions such as selling online or becoming non-professional drivers.

One of the pillars of PT Mitra Pinasthika Mustika Tbk (“MPM”) Corporate Social Responsibility is the economic empowerment of the community which is carried out by increasing the knowledge and skills of the surrounding community, so that armed skills can increase competitiveness and better job opportunities, or even start. own business. Armed with the experience and expertise possessed by the company, MPM wants to take part in addressing this social issue by holding a "Life Skill Training Center - Professional Driving Class" program which is held by providing training and developing hard skills and soft skills for non-professional drivers. so that they have good driving skills, obey traffic regulations, and are ethical. This program is held for 5 days, to be precise on 22-26 March 2021 and is located in the Sentul City Area, Bogor, of course by implementing strict health protocols, such as antigen tests that are applied to all participants and trainers before the activity starts, and still wear masks and keep your distance during the activity.
The material taught in this training class is divided into 2 focuses; The first is the soft skills of professional drivers which include mindset shifting, service excellence, customer service, driver ethics, driving techniques, traffic discipline, and driving safety. As for the hard skills material, the participants were invited to learn about vehicle introduction and steering control, good driving patterns, and defensive driving material. In addition, the participants also received instruction on First Aid in Accidents (P3K), namely how to handle it if you find an accident victim who has a broken bone or a victim who is unconscious, including knowledge of the techniques and process of CPR.

MPMX GM Corporate Communication & Sustainability Natalia Lusnita said, "Life Skill Training Center or LSTC is one of MPM's flagship CSR programs to improve the quality and skills of human resources, especially those working in the non-professional sector or those who don't have a job. From 2015 to 2019, the LSTC program has focused on training and equipping human resources to become professional mechanics so that participants can work in official workshop networks or even have their own workshop business. This time, together with our Subsidiary, namely MPMRent, we are targeting a group of non-professional drivers whose communities are getting bigger, who may not have been provided with safe driving techniques and knowledge. The hope is that after participating in this training the participants can have and apply the skills to become good drivers and obey traffic regulations, so that they can provide good service performance for their passengers and of course support them to get a more decent income ".

A total of 164 people from various non-professional driver communities registered themselves to take part in this training program. However, for the sake of mutual safety and complying with the standards of the Covid-19 program, only the best 20 participants were selected through a rigorous selection process based on the eligibility criteria and also through interviews.

Natalia added that the participants of this training had the opportunity to directly become a candidate for driver work at MPMRent, a subsidiary of MPM which is engaged in transportation services and car rental specifically for corporations. "The 20 training participants have been selected according to the initial screening procedure that we usually do when recruiting professional driver candidates for MPMRent and the material taught during this training is also part of the training material that we routinely provide to our drivers. Therefore, the participants' data has been recorded in the talent pool database so that when there is a need or a vacant driver, we will immediately summon these participants to take part in the selection and interview stages of acceptance as a professional driver in our company ”  Mitra Pinasthika Mustika MPMX
