Megapower Makmur MPOW

Megapower Makmur established in 2007 engaged in the procurement of goods and services for power generation. In 2010, Megapower Makmur had acquired by Bina Puri Holdings Bhd and start investing through Power plant in one of the Indonesia shortage of electricity area. In 2012, Megapower Makmur totally has become an Indonesia IPP (Independent Power Producer) Company. Megapower Makmur currently is a subsidiary of Bina Puri Holdings Bhd, a public company listed on the main board of Bursa Malaysia Berhad, with 40 years of work experience in the field of civil construction and the building of both local and international. The Group's business activities which include investment holdings, civil engineering and building management, development and property management, toll road concessions, mining, building materials industry, and power plants. With the support and experience of Bina Puri Holdings Bhd, Megapower Makmur believes becoming a public company with a healthy performance, international standard and environmentally friendly. Megapower Makmur MPOW

Vision
Being a public company with a healthy performance, international standards and environmentally friendly.

Mission
Doing business in the field of power generation and business development that is friendly to the environment in order to ensure the existence and development of the company long-term. Megapower Makmur MPOW

Hydro Power

Electrical conditions in Indonesia, especially for PT PLN (Persero) is currently faced with various problems such as:
a) The issue of availability of primary energy,
b) Availability of power is not balanced by the growth in electricity demand,
c) Dependence on oil and fuel prices are increasing expensive,
d) Electricity Cost (EC) remains high,
e) New electrification ratio reaches 54%,
f) Financial limitations PLN to build additional plants,
g) The selling price of electricity has not reached the economic value,
h) etc... Megapower Makmur MPOW

As we know that the current EC outside Java, especially in eastern Indonesia is still very high and this is because most of the plants using the fuel.

By looking at the condition of the limited supply of electricity (imbalance between supply and demand for electric power for household use; business; social and industrial growth) will potentially occur at the time of peak load outages due to lack of availability of electrical power. Until now PT PLN (Persero) had difficulty to supply new customers, especially for industrial and business customers.

To overcome the problems mentioned above have made efforts to find and exploit new sources of renewable and alternative energy. One source of renewable energy potential is water on the river for Minihidro Power Plant (MHP). Potential Indonesia’s MHP is relatively abundant and are scattered in various regions. On this occasion the PT. Megapower Makmur proposed building MHP Bantaeng-1 on the river Bialo with 4200 kW promised capacity (i.e.: 1 unit size 2100 kW and 1 unit size 2100 kW) in Bantaeng district, South Sulawesi.

Diesel Power
Diesel Power Center (PLTD) fuel oil (diesel), typically used to meet electricity needs in a number of small load, especially for new or remote areas for rural electrification. In the development of the diesel can also use gas fuel (BBG) The machine uses a diesel combustion chamber where the explosions in the combustion chamber moving the piston / piston to the crankshaft which is then converted into rotary energy. This rotary energy is used to turn a generator that transform them into electrical energy. To improve the efficiency of air mixed with the fuel pressure and the temperature is raised first to the turbo charger. The turbo charger driven by the exhaust gases of combustion from the combustion chamber.

The diesel engine used must be of high quality, performance and durability of the best, with low fuel consumption which produces high output, as well as light, vibration and low noise, so as not to cause pollution of both air and sound (still being reasonable in legislation) Megapower Makmur MPOW

Solar Power

ndonesia has the gift of sunshine. Almost in every corner of Indonesia, the sun shone all morning until the afternoon. Energy emitted by the sun can be converted into electrical energy using solar cells panels.

Solar power generation is environmentally friendly, and very promising. As one alternative to replace power plants use steam (oil and coal).

The development of technology in making solar panels better than the level of efficiency, long-lasting battery manufacture, and manufacture of electronic devices that can use Direct Current.

At this time the use of solar energy (solar panels) is still considered expensive in the absence of subsidies. The electricity we use today is actually subsidized electricity. Imagine exploitation / mining kerosene, coal (damaging the environment), the manufacture of steam electric power generation, power distribution, all of which were built at great expense.
Excess Solar Power:
• Renewable Energy / never run out
• Clean, environmentally friendly
• Age-term solar cell panel / long-term investment
• Practically, it does not require treatment
• It is suitable for tropical regions such as Indonesia

Solar panels as an important component of a solar power plant, turning sunlight into electricity. Generally we calculate the maximum sunlight converted into electricity throughout the day is 5 hours. Electric power in the morning - afternoon is stored in the battery, so that electricity can be used at night, where no sunlight.

Solar Power Generation Plan
Since solar power is dependent upon sunlight, so good planning is necessary. Planning consists of:
  • The amount of energy needed for daily use (Watt).
  • How large is the current produced solar cells panel (Ampere hour), in this case calculate how many solar panels to be installed.
  • How many units of batteries required for the desired capacity and consideration use without sunlight. (Ampere hour).
In value to the economy, solar power has a higher value, where the power of the PT. PLN is not enabled, or the installation of petrol or diesel power generators. For example, remote areas: mining, farming, fishing, remote villages, etc.. In terms of long term value to the economy is also high, due to good planning, solar power with solar panels have the endurance 20-25 years. Battery and some other components with durability 3-5 years.

Components of Solar Power Generation
For the installation of solar power as a power plant, required components as follows:
1. Solar panel
2. Charge controller
3. Inverter
4. Battery

Solar panels convert solar energy into electricity. Silicon cells (also called solar cells) are exposed to the sun / solar, making photons that produces an electric current. A solar cells produce less voltage 0.5 Volt. So a 12-volt solar panels made up of approximately 36 cells (to produce 17 volts maximum voltage).

Charge controller, is used to regulate the charging arrangements. Maximum voltage produced solar cells in the summertime panels will produce high voltage which can damage the battery.

Inverters, are electrical devices that convert the direct voltage (DC - direct current) into alternating voltage (AC - alternating current).

Battery, is a chemical device to store electricity from solar power. Without batteries, solar energy can be used only when there is sunlight. Megapower Makmur MPOW

OPERATION & MAINTENANCE

Our diesel power plant Operation and Maintenance (O&M) services are providing nearly complete package. In addition to commercial operating, maintaining and repairing the power plant (together with Komatsu Representative in Indonesia), we offer technical support and can manage and train the plant personnel.
