Background

Entrepreneurship is a potential for development, both in quantity and quality of entrepreneurship itself. In fact Indonesia is still small number of entrepreneurs. This is a problem in the form of building entrepreneurial Indonesia to support the development of the country.

Society's view of the perceived entrepreneurial world is still lacking. Each year if we consider, High School (SMA), Vocational School (SMK), State University of learners pass or private who has been educated. It is they who will be the expectation of a State. After graduation and a diploma most of them thought to look for and get a decent job. Dreams is what makes the most of them became unemployed due to not been able to get a dream job, due to the narrowness of the available jobs, both in public and private sectors. The number of graduates who are educated every year continues to grow, but the increase in employment is not comparable to the increase in the number of job seekers. The world of entrepreneurship is the spearhead for the building of a State.

Entrepreneurship is a way out of the best to solve the unemployment problem, but the interests of their students both active learning and that has been passed is still lacking. Causes of lack of interest has a background in public a negative view of the entrepreneurial profession.

According to Alma (2005:2) Many psychological factors that shape society's negative attitudes so that they are less interested in self-employment professions, including aggressive, expansive, competitive, selfish, dishonest, greedy, unstable sources of income, less respectable, low employment and so on. This view is shared by the majority of the population, so they are not interested. They do not want a child - his son jump in this field, and try to distract the child to become civil servants, especially when the child is entitled college graduates. They say. "To what high school", if only want to be a trader. "This view is impressive, deep down most of our people, ranging from Dutch colonial times up to several decades of independence.

Philosophical foundation is what causes the people of Indonesia are not motivated to go into business. We are far behind neighboring countries, which seemed - would have specialized in the business profession. They can develop a great business - industrial scale ranging from upstream to downstream industry, including business services, banking, wholesale trade (wholesale), a large retail trade (department stores, supermarkets), small retail (retail), exporter, importer, and forms other businesses in various types of commodities.

Reasons for Choosing Entrepreneurship

As a Career Path If you have to choose between working in a company or on their own, which one do you think is more interesting? According to the Small Business Administration (SBA), about 30 percent of the population of the United States has always "thought of owning your own business" and 4 percent of all working-age population - about 7 million people are actively involved in the establishment of new enterprises at certain moments. Since the early 1980's, has seen an increased interest to make entrepreneurship as a career path. It is heavily influenced by the success of entrepreneurs like Sam Walton, Martha Stewart, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs.Ever-increasing popularity of entrepreneurship which is currently among the younger generation more interested in trying to own than working for someone else. The extension of business as a group called Generation E, which emphasizes their prospects as a future employer. A public hearing conducted in 1996 on the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership noted that 7 out of 10 middle school students want to own and manage their own business. "Child - the child believes that one - the only chance in life is to create jobs, and instead accepted a job", he said. Marily Korilsky, Vice President of the organization. "They see a sense of security in the works is a problem that must be considered, and they want to be his own boss. People choose to leave the employer that is not rational or recognition and awards are not adequate. Others such as David Marcheschi started the business needs of consumers. Some of these motifs are often used as the main reason for becoming an entrepreneur.

The desire to be a boss for yourself The motivation that drives many entrepreneurs are self-management (self management). In an annual survey conducted by Inc. magazine., In America's 500 fastest growing companies, 4 percent of CEOs said the main reason that causes the same to try to own them, namely:

  1. "Being your own boss or to control their own lives.
  2. Financial successThere's a saying that the entrepreneur is a creator of wealth. Many of them started out with specific objectives, namely to make a profitable business, and they managed to get adequate financial rewards. They believe that he will not get rich if you work with others. "We are educated to believe that it's better getting 50 cents for myself rather than getting a much larger amount for someone else, said Staci Munic Mintz. Mintz and his brother started Little Miss Muffin, which is a company that sells low-fat muffins, low-cholesterol and cakes - another cake at their age about 25 years. Cake - the cake is sold to the coffee house and espresso bar. After his business this year, Little Miss Muffin has had 400 customers and managed to get pendapatn of $ 1.5 million.Although employers often mention that financial reward is the motive for his own business, but experts suggest that the desire to accumulate wealth is not the primary motivation in business. As said by the capitalist Barry Weinman business, "we're not going to work with people who only think about being rich. If you are just looking for a property as soon as possible, you should gamble. Professor Jon Goodman who teaches entrepreneurship program at the University of California agreed and he said, "I have worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs and I have never heard someone say," I want to find a way to get satisfaction.
  3. Working Safely In a senseMillions of people who lost their jobs because of downsizing the organization gives another reason that workers, especially young people, interested in the entrepreneurial world. For example, from 1990 to 1995, many companies make cuts of about 1.7 million workers, and the downsizing trend is still to come. To get around the tendency of proficiency level, people are choosing to create their own sense of safety in the work.
