Established in July 23, 1981 with name PT. Industri Kawat Indonesia, having Head Office and Factory located in Tangerang, Banten. (Based on notarial deed No 121 by Chusu Nuduri Atmadiredja, a vice notary in Tangerang).
 
1982
Changed name to PT. IKI Indah Kabel Indonesia. (Based on the notarial deed No 67 dated 19 March, 1982 by Lieke Lianadevi Tukgali, S.H.).

Listed in Jakarta Stock Exchange and established a Copper Wire Plant

1993
Start to manufacture Fire Resistant Cable under brand name IKILON, which is the first Fire Resistant Cable in Indonesia.  

1994
Converted into Foreign Direct Investment Company with 41% share of Sumitomo Electric Industries Ltd., Japan (SEI).  (Based on the Notarial Deed No 24 dated 8 Februari 1995 by Notarist A.Partomuan Pohan, S.H.,LL.M. and published in State Gazette no.52 dated 30 June 1995, Supplement to the State Gazette no. 5417).

1996
Installed the CCV Line with 'Common Cross Curing Process' For Medium Voltage Cable and facility to manufacture Optical Fiber Cable.  

1998
SEI gained 88% of share. The paid up capital of the Company was increased from Rp.36,000,000,000,- to Rp.306,000,000,000,- Separate the Copper Wire Plant and established 'PT. KARYA SUMIDEN INDONESIA' which manufactures Copper Rod & Wire.

1999
Changed name from PT. IKI Indah Kabel Indonesia Tbk., to PT. Sumi Indo Kabel Tbk. (Based on the Notarial Deed no 14 dated 4 December 1998 by Notarist A. Partomuan Pohan, SH, LL.M and was approved by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Indonesia in his decision letter No. C-2138.HT.01.04.TH. 99 dated 29 January 1999 and published in State Gazette No1435 on 2/3-1999 no.18)

2001
Received recognition as a Bonded Zone Company. (Based on Kep No.278/KMK.04/2001 and extended based on Minister of Finance Decree No.1039/KM.4/2012 dated 13 April 2012).

2005
Expanded the Instrument Cable production line to be able to complete the whole process in house and to supply the cables globally, especially for high demand of instrument cables in oil and gas industry.  

2010
Changed Period of Bookkeeping from period January 1 - December 31 become period April 1 – March 31, which was valid since Bookkeeping period April 1 – March 31, 2011.

2011
 SEI acquired 93% share.
Carry out bookkeeping by using English language in U.S. Dollar currency, which was valid since bookkeeping for fiscal year 2012.

Started to manufacture Battery cables for automotive. Through SEI, the cables were distributed to be used by prominent car manufacturer in the world such as Toyota, Honda, etc.

Starting out in 1949, GMF AeroAsia originated as the Technical Division of Garuda Indonesia Airlines at the Kemayoran and Halim Perdanakusuma airports in Jakarta, Indonesia. In 1984, GMF AeroAsia was relocated to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and rebranded itself as the Division of Maintenance & Engineering (M & E), which eventually developed into an independent business unit.

 PT Communication Cable Systems Indonesia (CCSI) is the leader in optical fiber cable manufacturer in Indonesia. CCSI is well known in the market as  the producer of premium, high quality fiber optic cables.  CCSI has the capability to produce wide range of indoor and outdoor cables. Presently CCSI is the only cabler manufacturer in Indonesia that is capable of producing submarine cables. Each cable is designed for a different applications and condition. The fibers are guarantee to be stress free and without strain effects during production, storage and installation. This is to assure a long cable lifetime and an optimum data-carrying capacities. CCSI factory has annual production capacity of 1,000,000 fiber Km. The factory is located at Krakatau Industrial Estate in Cilegon, Banten; whereas, the Sales & Marketing Office is located in Jakarta.

 Besides fiber optic cables, CCSI also  offers a tip-to-tip optical cable accessories. The company also produces HDPE subducts and Microducts. As a part of its diversification strategy, starting in 2014, the company also produces HDPE pipes and Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipes (RTP) for  oil & gas industry.
PT. Communication Cable Systems Indonesia (CCSI) started its operation in October 1996. The company was formerly known as PT. Siemens Kabel Optik because it was established as a joint-venture company with Siemens AG (Germany). Later on the company was acquired by Corning Inc (USA) before further taken over by CCS International. CCSI has a long partnership with Corning, the largest optical fiber supplier in the world, which continues to supply optical fiber, raw material for CSSI factory. CCSI has in house capability to develop and re-engineer fiber optic cables to suit to multiple customers requirement. As a pioneer in the region for submarine fiber optic cables, CCSI has supplied Repeaters-less submarine optical cables for state-own and private companies not only in the telecommunication sector but also in oil & gas industry. Following recent development in other countries, CCSI expanded its product lines to include  Microduct and Microcabling technology. One of CCSI unique innovation is to re-engineer and and manufacture micro cables, that is designed so it can be pulled as regular duct cables, rather than pushed with air-blowing compressor in standard method.

 To support the government’s initiative to push the use of gas as energy source,  in 2014 CCSI launched its new product–reinforced thermoplastic pipe, branded as FAST Pipe, for transmission and distribution of natural gas or oil. With spool length of 300 meters – 500 meters and equipped with flanges,  FAST pipes can be put ready for service much faster than regular steel pipes. FAST pipes are also corrosive free, which drastically reduce cost of maintenance and hence total cost of ownership (TCO) for the users.

 The Company was established in Indonesia as PT Branta Mulia in 1981 as a major supplier for the premium tire reinforcement material in Southeast Asia. The Company not only has a good image, qualified products, high professionalism, and strong commitment to provide excellent service to the customers, but also qualified human resources (HR) with great desire to do the best which have brought success to the Company up to these days.

 In 1985, the Company opened its first tire cord fabric factory in Citeureup, Bogor, West Java. Afterwards, the Company started its commercial operation on April 1, 1987. The Compan’s shares were listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange and the Surabaya Stock Exchange in 1990 in the the name of PT Branta Mulia Tbk.

 Since then, many developments and value improvements have been conducted for the sake of its stakeholders, among others: in October 1990, the company expanded its business by establishing a joint venture company named Thai Branta Mulia Co. Ltd., and in 1993. In 1993, the Company opened a tire cord fabric factory in Ayutthaya, Thailand. Additionally, a new company named PT Branta Mulia Teijin Indonesia was established in the beginning of 1996 under cooperation with Teijin Limited, Japan to produce polyester tire yarns, and its production started in 1997 in Citeureup, Bogor, West Java.

 In 1997, DuPont Chemical and the Energy Operation Inc. successfully acquired the Company’s shares by 19.78%. It gave a new fresh air to the Company and such cooperation created continuous strategic alliance up until January 2006. Said cooperation is ended in 2006, when DuPont sold all of its shares to several founder shareholders of PT Branta Mulia Tbk.

 In 1999, the Company had its shares delisted from the Surabaya Stock Exchange. The Company increased its shares ownership in Thai Branta Mulia Co. Ltd. from 49% to 64.19% in 2000.

 In 2006, Kordsa Global AS, which is a company part of Turki Sabanci Holding Group, bought 51.3% of the Company’s shares. As of 2018, Kordsa Global has increased its shares to 61.59% and changed the name to PT Indo Kordsa Tbk.
