Terregra Asia Energy TGRA

Terregra’s history goes back over 20 years to the establishment of PT. Mitra Megatama Perkasa (MMP) in 1995. MMP was established as a Mechanical and Electrical contractor focusing on the power generating sector, primarily working for PLN, Indonesia’s national electricity company. In 2010, MMP made its first investment in power generation, a mini-hydro plant located in Sumatera.

MMP became PT. Terregra Asia Energy in 2016 as it shifted its focus to hydro and solar photo-voltaic power generation. Terregra is now constructing a fleet of hydro-generation power plants and both roof-top and utility scale photo-voltaic developments. Working with proven technologies combined with its own experienced development, power engineering and management professionals as well as its own O&M team and partnering with some of the most experienced renewable power developers and technology providers in the world, Terregra is aiming to have over 300 MW of sustainable generation in operation within the next 5 years. Our corporate culture is built around the HEART principles. We believe in trust and that we don’t pay our employees to agree with management but to think about issues and voice their opinions and ideas. We give our employees the training and the tools they need to make reasoned, mature and constructive decisions. We operate collegially so that there is feedback every step of the way from every level in the company. All of this is based on open, frequent and clear communication amongst colleagues, with clients, with our partners and with our suppliers. Everyone in Terregra knows what we are about, what our vision is and every employee is committed to the mission.

Research & Development

Terregra believes that in order to successfully develop renewable generation as one of Indonesia’s main sources of power, we must be able to store it so that it is available whenever it is needed. Energy Storage is possibly the biggest single challenge which faces the future of sustainable energy. Fortunately, for hydro-electric generation we have a successful proven solution through ‘pumped storage’.

But Terregra believes that there are even more efficient and cost effective energy storage solutions to be discovered and developed and that’s why Terregra is also investing in Research & Development to help meet this challange.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Our Corporate Social Responsibility focuses on environment and education. While doing activities to conserve and protect climate and environment, we believe proper education is the long-term effective way to save our Planet. We have established an independent unit for this activity, under TerregraCare.  Terregra Asia Energy TGRA

Hydroelectricity Is a Renewable Energy Source

Hydroelectricity uses the energy of running water, without reducing its quantity, to produce electricity. Therefore, all hydroelectric developments, of small or large size, whether run of the river or of accumulated storage, fit the concept of renewable energy.  Terregra Asia Energy TGRA

Hydroelectricity Promotes Guaranteed Energy and Price Stability

River water is a domestic resource which, contrary to fuel or natural gas, is not subject to market fluctuations. In addition to this, it is the only large renewable source of electricity and its cost-benefit ratio, efficiency, flexibility and reliability assist in optimizing the use of thermal power plants.

Hydroelectricity Offers a Significant Contribution to Development

Hydroelectric installations bring electricity, highways, industry and commerce to communities, thus developing the economy, expanding access to health and education, and improving the quality of life. Hydroelectricity is a technology that has been known and proven for more than a century. Its impacts are well understood and manageable through measures for mitigating and compensating the damages. It offers a vast potential and is available where development is most necessary.

Hydroelectricity Makes It Feasible to Utilize Other Renewable Sources

Hydroelectric power plants with accumulation reservoirs offer incomparable operational flexibility, since they can immediately respond to fluctuations in the demand for electricity. The flexibility and storage capacity of hydroelectric power plants make them more efficient and economical in supporting the use of intermittent sources of renewable energy, such as solar energy or Aeolian energy.

Hydroelectricity Contributes to the Storage of Drinking Water

Hydroelectric power plant reservoirs collect rainwater, which can then be used for consumption or for irrigation. In storing water, they protect the water tables against depletion and reduce our vulnerability to floods and droughts.

Hydroelectricity Is a Fundamental Instrument for Sustainable Development

Hydroelectric enterprises that are developed and operated in a manner that is economically viable, environmentally sensible and socially responsible represent the best concept of sustainable development. That means, "development that today addresses people's needs without compromising the capacity of future generations for addressing their own needs"

Hydroelectricity Means Clean and Cheap Energy for Today and for Tomorrow

With an average lifetime of 50 to 100 years, hydroelectric developments are long-term investments that can benefit various generations. They can be easily upgraded to incorporate more recent technologies and have very low operating and maintenance costs.

Hydroelectricity Improves the Air We Breathe

Hydroelectric power plants don't release pollutants into the air. They very frequently substitute the generation from fossil fuels, thus reducing acid rain and smog. In addition to this, hydroelectric developments don't generate toxic by-products.

Hydroelectricity Helps Fight Climate Changes

The hydroelectric life cycle produces very small amounts of greenhouse gases (GHG). In emitting less GHG than power plants driven by gas, coal or oil, hydroelectricity can help retard global warming. Although only 33% of the available hydroelectric potential has been developed, today hydroelectricity prevents the emission of GHG corresponding to the burning of 4.4 million barrels of petroleum per day worldwide.   Terregra Asia Energy TGRA

Solar Power Is Good for the Environment - And Us!

The longer energy has to be transported, the more energy is wasted on the way. If you have your source of energy on your roof, you (and the rest of us) will lose a lot less energy, than we do right now.

Solar Power Makes You Independent of Electricity Prices

The price for electricity usually differs through the day, being more expensive in the middle of the day and in the early evening. Because power plants create a relatively steady output of electricity, the prices rise and fall throughout the day, based on the beforementioned change in demand. With solar power, you can avoid this rise in price, and get cheap energy all day.

Solar Power Causes Less Electricity Loss

The longer energy has to be transported, the more energy is wasted on the way. If you have your source of energy on your roof, you (and the rest of us) will lose a lot less energy, than we do right now.

Solar Power Improves Grid Security

When we have a lot of people generating energy with solar power, we are less likely to experience blackouts. Each house with solar cells on it, functions as a small power plant, which provides us with a great grid security, in cause of human-caused or natural disasters.

Solar Power Is Domestic

When you use coal, oil, or natural gasses to generate your electricity, you usually make use of energy from another part of the world. If you would like to benefit your national economy, it is a good idea to use solar power, because electricity from your own solar panels are domestic.

Solar Power Creates Jobs and Economic Growth

The most of the costs towards solar power comes from the installment of solar panels and solar cells, and it is that money, that pay for other peoples salaries. The more people who choose to make use of solar power, the more people we need to install and maintain the solar panels, which helps our mutual national economy. Terregra Asia Energy TGRA
