Perusahaan Gas Negara
was officially established on May 13, 1965. However, the company's
history had started since the colonial ages. Many events had occurred
over the last one and a half century. PGN has experienced the long
history of gas industry in Indonesia. Below is a review of PGN's history timeline in spreading the Energibaik for life.
1859 - 1965
The company was initially established as a Dutch private company named Firma LJN Eindhoven & Co Gravenhage. PGN was set as a state-owned company on May 13, 1965.

1994 - 1998
PGN's business growth and expansion is followed up with the establishing of a subsidiary named Transportasi Gas Indonesia.

2003
On December 15, 2003, PGN's stock was listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange and Surabaya Stock Exchange, with stock code of PGAS.
2007 - 2012
The company
established several subsidiaries, including PGAS Telekomunikasi
Nusantara, PGAS Solution, Saka Energi Indonesia, Gagas Energi Indonesia,
and PGN LNG Indonesia.
2016
PGN started the
development and management of natural gas network projects for
households in Batam, Surabaya, and Tarakan areas, after previously
tasked to manage gas networks at 11 areas in 2015. PGN conducted
organization transformation along with subsidiaries and affiliated
companies in the form of ONE PGN, thus solidifying the step to the next

PGN's operations are supported by various sophisticated and reliable
technology to ensure the quality and quantity of distributed gas.
Operating Technology
Uses Automatic Meter Reader (AMR) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, field measurement system, field control, and gas distribution information system.
Business Asset Management
Uses Geographical Information System (GIS) and AIM Tools.
Capacity Management
Gas Management System (GMS) and SCADA is used fir gas transaction management system and pipeline network management.
Gas Balance
Uses integrated technology of AMR and SCADA named E-SCADA to monitor gas consumption online by using GPRS communications system, to ensure that the gas flowing in to the off-taker stations and gas used by online subscribes are balanced.
Quality & Quantity Gas
Uses meter system in delivery and receiving spots. Diafragma, Orifice, Turbine, and Ultrasonic systems are used to maintain quantity. Gas Chromatography, H2S analysis tool, H20 analysis tool, and liquid Hydrocarbon temperature analysis tool are used. Perusahaan Gas Negara PGAS

PGN views human capitals as
one of the most valuable stakeholders for corporate growth. For that,
intensive communication becomes the connecting bridge between employees
and the company. Any complaints and needs of employees must be heard and
responded to clearly. The main expectations of PGN employees are career
development, performance-based remuneration, and welfare assurance.
In the management of human capitals, we continuously strive to improve
the professionalism and competence of employees according to PGN’s human
capitals development roadmap. The indications of the comfort and safety
of working as employees of PGN can be seen, among others, from the low
number of employee turnover, no employees being laid off, high rate of
safe working hours, and improved quality of workers according to the
results of competence assessment.
Development of Competency
PGN has a well-planned,
systematic and focused competency development program in line with the
company's business development. One of the major competency development
programs that has been consistently implemented is education and
training programs that support the process of maintaining and improving
the quality of human capitals.
PGN allocates an average of 6 training days for each employee to support
the development and fulfilment of the employee’s competency gap.

Governance Structure
According to Law Number 40 Year 2007 on Limited Liability Companies, the Company's structure consists of General Meeting of Shareholders, Board of Commissioners, and Board of Directors. The Company's organs play a key role in the successful implementation of Good Corporate Governance. The organs perform their functions on the principle that each organ has independence in performing its duties, functions and responsibilities for the benefit of the Company.
Committees
Currently PGN has three committees to ensure good management of the company. The three committees are the Audit Committee; Nomination and Remuneration Committee; and the Risk Management and Business Development Supervisory Committee.
Corporate Secretary
The Corporate Secretary has functions and responsibilities : Assisting the Board of Directors and Board of Commissioners in the implementation of corporate governance, : Become a liaison between the Company and shareholders, the Financial Services Authority and other stakeholders ; Provide input to the Board of Directors and the Board of Commissioners to comply with the regulations in the Capital Market, and keep abreast of the developments in the Capital Market development, especially in the Capital Market regulations; Coordinate administrative activities (among others: governance of payments; reports on realization of RKAP ; officialdom administration : official travel, filing leave, disciplinary violations , training proposal and others) for Strategic Management and Transformation, Risk Management and GCG, HSSE.
