Global Mediacom is the largest and the
only integrated media, broadcasting, entertainment and telecommunication
group in Indonesia with operations that encompass content production,
content distribution, television and radio broadcasting, newspaper,
magazine, tabloids, mobile content aggregrator, value added services
provider, and IT system integrator.
In addition, the Group also
holds a portfolio of investments that can be converted into financial
resources for immediate and future expansions.
Established on 30 June 1981, the Company initially operated as a
conglomerate engaged in general trade, with share ownership in media and
broadcasting industry, telecommunications, Information Technology,
hospitality, property, chemical materials, infrastructure and
transportation. Upon their establishment, PT Rajawali Citra Indonesia
(RCTI) became Indonesia’s first private TV station while PT Cipta
Pendidikan Indonesia (MNCTV, formerly TPI) followed as the third
national private TV in Indonesia.
1995 The Company carried out an initial public offering of shares on the
Indonesia Stock Exchange, offering 200 million shares at an offering
price of Rp1,250 per share. The Company subsequently consolidated,
restructured and relinquished ownerships in subsidiaries outside its
core business.
1997 MNCN was established as a holding company in advertising and content-based media.
2001 MNCN acquired 70% of GlobalTV’s share.
2002 PT Global Informasi Bermutu (GlobalTV) was consolidated into MNCN and commenced the broadcasting of MTV Asia’s programs exclusively in Indonesia on a 24-hour basis.
2004

- RCTI fully paid off its outstanding bonds in the amount of Rp220 billion.

- In line with its strategy to focus on media, the Company sold its ownership in PT Mobile-8 Telecom Tbk.
- Linktone Ltd. collaborated with MNC’s VAS division in Indonesia.

- Linktone acquired a controlling stake in Letang Game Ltd, a mobile and PC online games provider from the People’s Republic of China.
- MNCN together with Linktone acquired 87.5% of the outstanding shares in InnoForm Media Pte., Ltd, with a composition of 12.5% (MNC) and 75% (Linktone).
- TPI was renamed to MNCTV.
2011
- The Company increased its share ownership in MSKY to 75.54%.
- MNCN launched ‘Just for Kids’ magazine.
- MNC Networks re-launched V-Radio.
- Saban Capital Group acquired a 5% stake in MNC and was committed to raising it by 2.5% within 27 months.

- MSKY refinanced its subsidiary‘s bonds which amounted to US$165 million.
- MSKY signed a syndicated bank loan of US$243 million with 3 (three) year term to be used for refinancing of the bonds of its subsidiary company, capital expenditure and working capital. Through the bond refinancing, MSKY managed to make significant savings on interest expenses of up to US$10 million per year.

As Southeast Asia's largest and most integrated media group, PT Global Mediacom Tbk ('BMTR' or 'the Company') holds the country’s most extensive media portfolio.
