Delta Djakarta (DLTA)

PT Delta Djakarta Tbk. (PT Delta or the Company) was first established in Indonesia in 1932 as a German brewery called Archipel Brouwerij, NV. The Company was subsequently bought out by a Dutch firm and was renamed NV De Oranje Brouwerij. The Company adopted its current name, PT Delta Djakarta Tbk in 1970.
In 1984, PT Delta became one of the first Indonesian companies to list its shares on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (today Indonesia Stock Exchange), bolstering its status as a major player in the domestic beer industry.

The 1990s ushered in a period of robust foreign investment in Indonesia. It was during this time that San Miguel Corporation (SMC) acquired a controlling interest in the Company. SMC is one of the largest and most diversified conglomerates in the Philippines, with interests in beverages, food, packaging, power, fuel and oil, infrastructure, mining and telecommunications.

The municipal government of Greater Jakarta (DKI Jakarta) is also a major shareholder in the Company. In 1997, the Company embarked on an aggressive expansion plan relocating its brewery from its original base in North Jakarta to a bigger, more modern facility in its current location in Bekasi, West Java.
PT Jangkar Delta Indonesia, a subsidiary of PT Delta, was established in 1998 and was the Company’s sole distributor, with a dealership network spanning the archipelago, from Medan in North Sumatra to Jayapura in Papua Province. However, during the first semester of 2017, the Subsidiary transferred all of its employees to the Company and as of year-end, the Subsidiary only handles one sub-distributor. As of yet, the Company has no plans to cease operations of PT Jangkar Delta Indonesia.

PT Delta produces fine Pilsner and Stout beer for the domestic Indonesian market, with a portfolio of brands that include Anker Beer, Anker Stout, Carlsberg, San Miguel Pale Pilsen, San Mig Light, San Miguel Cerveza Negra and Kuda Putih.

PT Delta also produces and exports Pilsner beers under the brand Batavia. And the last quarter of 2017 marked the beginning of beer exports for PT. Delta Djakarta Tbk to neighboring country, Timor Leste. Delta Djakarta (DLTA) History
